Pianist and composer George Cruz is rooted in the tradition of Black American music, drawing on its depth to shape a voice that is personal, grounded, and spiritually centered. Influenced by Charlie Parker, Bud Powell, Herbie Hancock, and Keith Jarrett, he channels their spirit through a sound that is lyrical, bold, and alive.
Currently based in Central Virginia Area, he leads ensembles and collaborates with artists who share a reverence for the lineage. Through every performance, his music speaks with clarity and depth, guided by a commitment to beauty, soul, and honesty.
